Maitri Group, LLC
Maitri means loving-kindness. We are an app and AI development company. We build calm, thoughtful apps for learning, connection and discovery, with more than thirty years of engineering craft behind each one.
About
I founded Maitri Group after more than thirty years of writing software, from the earliest desktop programs to today's AI-assisted mobile apps. I believe the best technology comes from technical care and genuine kindness toward the people who use it.
The apps below are the ones we are making right now. Some are finished and in the stores. Some are still taking shape, and I have said so plainly on each card.
Our Apps
Six projects, at different stages. Each card says where things really stand.
An open-source diagramming app written in pure Rust that aims to open, edit and save Microsoft Visio files. Built clean-room from public specifications.
You can already draw, connect, edit text and save .vsdx files, and shape formulas recalculate. Work is now in the final phase, the control channel for AI agents. Still pre-alpha and not ready for real work.
A mobile divination app. Bring a photograph or an object that matters to you, and Aksha combines its structure with the live positions of named stars to send you to a real place on the map.
The algorithm and the app are written and being tested. It has not been released yet.
Learn to write the Lao alphabet stroke by stroke, then build a 500-word vocabulary with audio and spaced-repetition flashcards. Works offline, with no account needed.
On the App Store and Play Store, with free downloads for Mac, Windows, Linux and Android. The alphabet is free; the full vocabulary is a one-time purchase.
Your people, all in one cozy place. A self-hosted web and mobile app that gathers the people you care about across many social platforms into one calm feed. English, Chinese and Thai at launch.
The specification is complete and the server code is running. Mobile screens are in progress. No public release yet.
A post-date debrief chatbot for lesbian and queer women. Jess is the warm, loud, endlessly curious best friend who wants to hear every detail, with voice chat included.
The Flutter app and its backend both work. Conversations stay on your own phone and are never stored on a server. Launch deployment is being prepared.
“Protect the Dharma, liberate everyone.” A Flutter app and publishing framework for web and mobile, with an in-app audio player and translations in many languages.
Version 1.0 is built for web, Android and iOS, and the web edition is published. Android notifications and the audio player are the most recent work.
